This main drive gear assembly is for a Heidelberg Quickmaster or Printmaster press. A belt comes off of the drive motor up to this assembly on the outside of the frame. It's shaft goes through the frame to a helical gear that then contacts the impression cylinder gear and drives the press. I have seen the pin that holds the gear to the shaft become so worn that it can throw off the timing. I have also seen the worn pin accompanied by a damaged shaft and or gear. This assembly will run you around $2000 if you have to buy it new from Heidelberg.
