Applications: *Heat Mounting *Laminating *Applying Texture to large photos, artwork, and posters Operational Features: *Has capability of finishing pieces larger than press itself (up to 51") *Adjustable pressure for materials up to 1" thick *Easy to clean platen surfaces CANVAS TRANSFERS: Canvas transfer is the practice of transferring resin-coated photos, fiber-based photos and prints to canvas. It is a process that is gaining in popularity with the potential to be one of the most profitable and creative techniques a framer can offer. Canvas transfer is profitable because the materials are very economical, the process requires minimum time, it works in any mounting press and the end result is considered a high-end application. Creatively, a number of artistic interpretations can be used, including brush stroking, stretching onto a frame similar to real canvas and mounting onto foam board for a rigid, yet thin transfer for framing into a narrower rabbet. CREATING A DEEP WRAPPED BEVEL: A deep bevel is a special effect that creates a dimensional, layered look that enhances the presentation of framed artwork. Depending upon the materials used and the overall size of the frame, the process allows for a variety of depths, depending upon the number of stacking mats used. 100% Cotton Rag Foam Board is an ideal material to create this custom look. SHADOW BOXES A shadow box is a shallow frame fronted with glass. It is a very creative way to showcase and protect collectibles and memorabilia, including photos, family heirlooms or souvenirs. Shadow box framing can be an extremely profitable option, especially when using Foam Board products. There are a number of ways to create a shadow box. The Mikado box, described here, is a one-piece design with the side strips of the box a hinged part of the backing board. WRAPPING AND EMBOSSING: This is an example of a wrapped foam board technique used to create custom colored and textured mats. Acid-Free Foam Board in a 3/16 inch thickness was bevel cut, wrapped with fabrics and fine art papers and used as a double mat.
