The  sign is in good condition. The size is 12 x 17 inches.  It could be displayed in your man cave or den. It would fit very well in your local bar. Understand, it is made of tin and the number of months that it laid out in the weather is going to make the tin move to the wind. It was originally hung on wood posts, by nail into wood. it's 1/16 of an inch thick. So, there are scrates and wind related dents. But, it can be displayed flat.It is one of the iconic signs of Chicago. Each Sunday an array of people of all cultures would come to the party of  live blues music, eating all sorts of ethic food and visit all stores on Maxwell Street. It was a time to remembered full of stories of buying a large bag of potato's and found out that when you arrived home the potato's were all rotten. There were stores were you could order a new suite form some of the Jewish store owners. It was a special time for the city and it's people. This sign represents those times long gone and it's long gone era. It's gone. It isn't coming back and this is the only original sign from Maxwell Street I know of. It is truly an iconic piece of art from the days that were festive and now long gone.
