From manual, General Description: The Medtronic Model 5388 is a battery-powered temporary dual chamber pacemaker designed primarily for temporary antibradycardia pacing therapy. The device provides eight selectable modes of pacing therapy: DDD, DVI, DDI, DOO, VOO, VVI, AOO and AAI. High-rate, burst pacing therapy up to 800 ppm, for atrial tachyarrhythmias, is available in the asynchronous mode. The device is typically connected to temporary transvenous epicardial or myocardial pacing leads, in a bipolar configuration, using patient cables (included) or surgical cables. The device operates using a 9-volt alkaline or lithium battery (not included), installed in the battery drawer at the lower right side of the device.
