  This is a Merril Single Drum Lifter No. 52. It can lift steel drums with or without heads removed.   The drums can be lifted from either horizontal or vertical postions and then reversed.  It snaps onto drum and is held there by its spring-loaded cam even when there is no load.  This not recommended for lifting steel sheets or plates.  This is used, but is in excellent working order. Compare to the new price -   #52 1/2 TON DRUM LIFTER GRIP 0-7/8" CAMPBELL 6410101   EACH $491.75    $491.75           Why pay so much more for new paint when this unit is 100%? Similar to driving a new car off the lot, it will depreciate. The new clamp will get a scratch the first time you use it anyway. I was a gold seller, I had 1000's of great feedbacks, a couple of negs ( I have learned some people are impossible to please).    Now, I still have a 7000 sq. ft. building, filled with 100's of mystery boxes inherited from an avid antique dealer who had a great eye. SOOO, here  I am again, and just relearning the "new" Ebay. The fees have risen (Ebay even takes a precentage of shipping charges!), and the marketplace has changed, but, it still offers a larger audience than I can find elsewhere. Never know what is in the next box!
