This cattle bloat knife is a metal trocar featuring a wood handle and sheath for added convenience. The 6" trocar is brand new and comes with a cannula included. The steel trocar is an effective tool for relieving bloating in cows. By puncturing the rumen with the standard trocar and cannula, gas is expelled in a less traumatic way than an emergency rumenotomy. Veterinarians and livestock producers have been using this technique for emergency bloat relief for years. In case of persistent bloat, the cannula can be left in place for a few days, allowing regular checks to ensure it doesn't get blocked.
