It reads depth and current within tolerance.  The transmitter has 82kHz,9.82kHz 982Hz. It also has the Auto setting for the lowest best frequency. The all setting which is both 9.82 and 82 at the same time.  These locators were used for years by larger gas firms like PGE and So Cal Gas due to their ease of use and ruggedness.  The receiver is in excellent shape with hardly any scratches or marks it looks almost new. The transmitter is still in good shape but has a few scratches and scrapes. Both have new Batteries and have had all the frequencies tested. The case is missing a latch but otherwise is in excellent shape. I have included a newer set of direct connects and set of instructions for the 9890XT. The receiver is a 9800 but the one button for depth is similar to the 9890XT so it should give you the answers you need.  I have a set of latches ordered, so if they get here before this sells I will repair the case otherwise it is sold with the one working latch. It closes fine and none of the metal fins are bent and the foam inside is in great shape and clean.
