Metrum M32HESFB VLDS Variable Speed Digital Recorder - C-17 Globemaster Metrum Variable Speed Digital Recorder. The first in series of Harsh Environment (HE) recorders by Metrum-Datatape, the Model 32HE is designed, built and qualified specifically for harsh conditions. The model 32HE is completely sealed; once the tape door is closed, the media, electronics and transport mechanism are protected from the environment. Suitable for use in fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft operations, including ASW, flight testing and other situations demanding large storage volumes.Using the latest 100 kbpi version of Metrum-Datatape technology, this model captures data at variable streaming rates from 0 to 32 Mbps and burst rates from 0 to 160 Mbpi. They record data at a density of 100,000 bpi on to broadcast-quality, high - energy, Metrum-Datatape-certified ST-160 S-VHS cassettes, that provide 13.8 Gbytes of data storage, giving 57 minutes minimum (linearly increasing as data rate reduces).The Model 32HE include three interfaces: a single-board mux - eight channel PCM and two channel analogue; series RS-422, TTL, ECL; parallel RS-422, TTL, ECL. This data recorder is in very good cosmetic shape and looks like it was well taken care of. There are only a few scratches on the unit.
