The MICRO 100 QFG-490-078X is a face grooving tool made of solid carbide and coated with AlTiN - Aluminum Titanium Nitride. It has a groove width of 0.078" (1.98 mm), a projection of 0.100" (2.54 mm), and a minimum groove diameter of 0.500" (12.7 mm). With a shank diameter of 0.5000" (12.7 mm) and an overall length of 2.5" (64 mm), this tool is perfect for face grooving or face turning in most machining applications. It can be utilized for both roughing and finishing and has close tolerances for ultimate precision and performance. The MICRO 100 QFG-490-078X is made in the USA and coated with AlTiN for extended tool life. It is a face grooving tool that can be utilized in most machining applications, with close tolerances for ultimate precision and performance. It is an excellent tool for dry machining applications and best suited for alloy steels, stainless steels, tool steels, nickel alloys, and titanium. The MICRO 100 Solid Carbide Tools feature more than just a micro-grain of excellent quality. Their substrate is in class of its own, resulting from exclusive treating processes that allow increased speed and feed rates. The Micro-Quik Tooling System provides maximum centerline repeatability within plus or minus 0.0005" from tool to tool. This unique system reduces machine setup, downtime, tooling costs, and tooling inventories all while boosting productivity. AlTiN coatings on this tool are high performance and versatile, with a higher breakdown temperature and high surface hardness at elevated temperatures. These coatings promote tool life and allow for faster feeds and speeds, making it excellent for dry machining applications. It is applicable with oxidation temperatures up to 800В° C or 1450В° F, and best suited for alloy steels, stainless steels, tool steels, nickel alloys, and titanium.
