Micro-Tel WR-250 Wide Range Surveillance Receiver, Cold War, SIGINT Available for sale is Micro-Tel WR-250 Wide-Range Receiver.  This receiver is WORKING & TESTED and was designed to support spectrum surveillance, antenna pattern ranging, attenuation measurements and general laboratory use.  The receiver is a highly linear design featuring a square law bolometer output, an audio-video crystal detector, IF output, internal attenuator, reference channel for slide-back measurements and panoramic spectural display.  Frequency range is 7.5MHz to 100.0 GHZ, with a slide rule dial directly calibrated to 22.5 GHz.  Includes installed low frequency converter option.  Solid state chassis with (2) tubes (CRT display and 1st Osc.)  Manual (copy) is included. I bought this receiver to do antenna pattern work and that project is now ended so I’m selling the receiver to make room for another project. This is a working piece of cold war history, built in the heart of Maryland’s technology belt west of Baltimore.  Micro-Tel was one of many manufacturers producing “Black Radios” for the various three letter agencies within our government.  Others included Racal, Watkins-Johnson, CEI, ACL, Nems Clarke, and LTV just to name a few.
