MedGem Indirect Calorimeter RMR Testing System Excellent Cosmetic and Tested Working Condition INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING AVAILABLE The MedGem by Microlife Medical Home Solutions, Inc. is a handheld, portable indirect calorimeter that measures oxygen consumption (VO2) and determines resting metabolic rate (RMR). Accurate measurement of oxygen consumption and energy requirements serves as an ideal basis for nutritional assessment and for administering medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Nutrition monitoring plays a vital role in the care of patients with diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and obesity, as well as conditions that place patients at risk for malnutrition, such as cancer, burns, anorexia nervosa, trauma, infection, obstructive lung disease and HIV. MedGem can be used in acute care,long term care, home care and clinic based care settings such as physician offices, rehabilitation centers, and out patient clinical nutrition centers. This MedGem Indirect Calorimeter is in excellent cosmetic and tested working condition. The unit powers on as soon as the power supply is connected and successfully completes self diagnostics. The unit then goes into stand-by mode, awaiting the start of a test. Depressing the button begins the test process which takes approximately 5-10 minutes. I completed 2 tests on myself, and the system functions as designed.
