Description This HM 505 EV cryostat is in great working and cosmetic condition as determined by technical staff. This unit powers on, initializes, and cools to the manufacturer's specifications of -35°C. Plenty of extra features designed for ease-of-use abound; this model features a 24-hour automatic defrosting cycle for the rear evaporator, maintenance free cross roller bearings, and ample storage located in the cryochamber for brushes and slides. An automated switch-off prevents mistakes when the knife reaches the front and rear limits of the sample, and the real time LED display keeps the user informed at all times of what is occurring within the instrument. Operated via user guided handwheel, the HM 505 EV requires no additional software, and can be used either standing or sitting. Section thickness is between 1-20 microns and trimming thickness is 10-500 microns. The max specimen size is 70x55mm; the cutting area is 60mm for the vertical specimen stroke and 28mm for the horizontal feed range. The HM 505 EV can cut both biological and man made materials.
