It powers on and goes through a few screens and then stops on a screen for adjusting the contrast. I am not able to change the screens once it is at that screen. When I slide a small piece of paper through the slide it flashes some information on the screen, but it is too fast to read and then it goes back to the contrast adjustment screen. The operating system is Windows CE. Even though the scratches look bad when the screen is turned off, they are not as distracting as you would think once the display is on. However, the plastic cover probably will need to be replaced. I am not able to test it further. It only comes with what is shown in the pictures.
