For Auction/Sale:  A Rough Service Volts-Amps Meter box that was probably used ineither Aircraft service or US Navy Gunnery service.  Dunno.  The box has 3 shock mount units in a strip on top and again on the bottom showing that it was held firmly in place from top to bottom.  The meter connections are on glass-ceramic feed-thru's on the back.  There is a set for M1 and a set for M2.  One is an AC meter; one is a DC meter.   On the back are two of the famous Chandler-Evans "Protek Plugs" which were used for  many years on stored or shipped aircraft engines. The Protek Plug mounted in place of the spark plugs and contains silica gel dessicant designed to maintain low humidity and absorb any water vapor that infiltrates the space.  These are in-tack and still working. Finally, each meter has a pair of knobs underneath them which have something to do with switching scales.  However, I have no idea how this works.  Both knobs tighten clockwise and so loosen if turned counter-clockwise.  We verified they both operate but we did not try to remove them or turn them very much for fear of doing something wrong.  With both loosening in the same direction, my initial guess was that the inner knob was the "lock"  and the larger, outer knob, would have to be the scale select.  Again, dunno.  We leave this to the purchaser to investigate.  We have no more information on this unit.  Application:  This could be very useful for monitoring voltages at a transmitter site, a repeater tower site or other site where equipment gets exposed to the elements. Condition:  Used, in good physical shape but it has not been tested electrically.  When handled the meter pointers wiggle as you would expect a good meter to behave.  The box has no signs of abuse or having been dropped.  The glass is clear and only the outside  steel box is showing some finish issues.   Shipping:  This unit despite its seemingly small size is heavy and is approximately  16 x 12 x 10 in size.  Weight at least 25 lbs.  Shipping will be closely estimated but any  excess returned to the buyer if there is enough to warrant the time.  Buyer pays $2.50  towards the boxing & packing because those materials are not free to me.  Terms:  Sold as a vintage collectible and strictly as is.
Surplused Rough Service Volts Amps meter assembly in good physical condition. Electrical is probably okay but we have not tested it. The desiccant tubes are unbroken and the meters are clear.
