Milwaukee Power Resistor  .25 3 5/8 x 3/4 x 3/4 Mounting hole 3 1/4" 4 1/4" New, old inventory METAL CASE RESISTORS 20 WATTS TO 100 WATTS . The stainless steel case provides high heat sink capabilities and a rugged, shock resistant exterior. Features of the Metal Case resistor include: Terminal bands are spotwelded after installation on the insulated core and resistance-alloy wire is precisely wound onto the core. The wire is spotwelded to the terminal band and then "locked" onto the core with a silicone coating. Resistor is "potted" into the metal case with high temperature cement. Tapped styles with single quick connect terminals, lugs, or leads available. Resistance ranges from .2 ohms to 66,000 ohms (depending on voltage) are available. Non-inductive winds and special temperature coefficients can be provided. Special terminals and mounting hardware available for unusual applications. Wattage ratings are based on a temperature rise of 275°C. above an ambient of 25°C. (Heat sink ratings based on mounting on a 10" x 10" x .040" steel panel) Maximum voltage limitation is 750 Volt RMS per inch of winding length. Hi-potential test at 1500 Volt RMS is available with higher voltage tests available. Standard resistance tolerance is ±10%, closer tolerances available upon request. Typical applications for metal case resistors in motor/motion control include areas such as dynamic braking, motor starting, and speed/torque control. Other applications include current limiting and voltage dropping. Metal Case resistors are commonly found in: Power Supplies Conveyors Processing Equipment Battery Chargers Voltage dividers Industrial Controls
