These are the gold (phalocyanine) dye which is highly recommended for any recording. They also have the platinum/silver reflective layer, which makes them extremely compatible with most cd players. If you are tired of having your recordings skip, pop, or otherwise sound like crap, then it's time to try some really good CD's. I've been using these for several years now and the CD's are still playing beautifully! Any time you hear crackling and popping and skipping on your CD's, you can usually attribute it to cheap media. Try Mitsui and you won't be sorry. They are much more durable than the cheap stuff, too. They don't scratch as easily. They are just awesome! Try these CD's for making your master copies. The CD's are plain silver on top, no branding on the surface. They say MAM-A around the center of the disk. They have the gold recording layer, which makes them extremely stable for long term usage... Some information about the quality of MAM-A discs: MAM-A has developed a reputation for quality that is un-equaled in the CD industry. Because of their patented Phthalocyanine (thalo-sy-a-neen) dye and their attention to detail in the manufacturing process, they offer recordable media that is more reliable and longer lived than any other recording media available today. If you store it on MAM CD-R, you can be sure that you can reliably retrieve it for a long time to come. In fact, we conservatively estimate that our silver CD-R will last 100 years when stored at room temperature and our MAM Gold will last in excess of 300 years. No other recording media that we know of can offer that kind of reliability. (Tapes don't come close and even "stamped" CDs will last 5-25 years at best). Because MAM makes all of its own discs, and makes most of the component materials which go into its discs, MAM CD-R media benefits from a consistency and process control which no other manufacturer can equal. Since they don't rely on third-parties to provide their technology, production facilities, or raw materials, MAM CD-R customers know that each component and each step in the manufacturing process has been subjected to the most rigorous quality controls in the industry. You will not find a better disc out there! Every MAM CD-R is certified for use with all high speed recorders up to 52X. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, MAM's molding process results in discs that are flatter than the competition. While all discs are slightly warped, if they are warped beyond a certain tolerance they cannot be used for high speed recording. Second, the unique characteristics of the Phthalocyanine dye simply works better in high speed writers than other dyes.
