Description:  The MJ research PTC-200 has proven to be one of the work horses of PCR’s throughout the years. As anyone who has ever used a PCR you know the MJ research PTC-200 is an optimal choice that will last you for years to come. The MJ Research PTC 200 is a gradient thermo cycler that has swappable alpha blocks. The unit can be supplied with blocks ranging from 96 well blocks, dual 48 well blocks or specialty blocks like the insitu. Over the years MJ Research has been acquired by Bio-Rad and they have taken the unit and updated it cosmetically, but it has maintained many of the same features that made the MJ Research PTC 200. Many people even still prefer the old trusty MJ Research PTC 200 models over the current models due to their steadfast reliability and great physical manufacturing.  If you are looking for a reliable and robust peltier thermal cycler the MJ Research PTC-200 DNA Engine is your machine. With a simple moveable block head you can control the pressure and height of the heated lid (hot bonnet). This allows the end used of the PTC 200 to be able to use a variety of different plastic wares. The PTC 200 comes equipped with peltier-effect heat and allows you to perform repeated cycling for PTC-200 thermal cycler. In addition the MJ Research PTC 200 takes up a small footprint (14" by 10" by 10"), but packs tons of punch. In addition to incredible and reliable heating features which allow you to ramp up and down quickly for repeated cycles, the unit has an intuitive and easy to use display. The PTC 200 display can easily configure multiple users and store their favorite PC protocols. The protocols can go in temperature ranges from O Celsius to 100 Celsius. Within that temperature range the thermo cycler also has a +/- 0.4 C temperature range which can be stabilized in the PTC 200 within 30 seconds of arrival at desired temperature.  MJ Research PTC 200 Interchangeable Blocks  The Mj Research comes with the ability for interchangeable peltier blocks. The two most common units are the ALS-1244 which is the Dual 48 Well Block model and the ALS-1296 is the 96 Well PCR block version. The MJ Research can also accommodate other blocks such as the rare, but desired Insitu slide block. Other blocks available for the PTC 200 include Dual 48 well Blocks, 30 well blocks and 60 well blocks. When Dual 48 Well blocks are used on the MJ Research PTC 200 you are able to set separate programs and run two separate programs at once. For a smaller lab with less samples this can be a big help and allow one machine to serve multiple purposes.
