This is an incomplete set of 3 of 4 volummes. Please note that the pages are yellowing and that there are notes written on the inside covers. Volume I is 277 pages and examines the properties of electrical circuits, practical forms of electrical machines, generators, electrical aspects of generator operations, features of alternator construction, other generators, power factor & its implications, electricity costs & tariffs, automatic voltage regulation, batteries and electronics. Volume II is 288 pages and takes a look at transmission, cable & underground networks, over head lines & accessories, faults & fault testing. lighting arresters, static transformers, typical transformer design, special transformer types, motor & binary converters, rotary converter, synchronous, metallic & valve rectifiers, mercury arc rectifiers, frequency changes, automatic converting plant, wiring. Volume III is 270 pages and discusses switch gears, DC circuit breakers, AC switches, high-capacity switch gears, current & voltage transformers & fuels, indicating & recording instruments, protective gear & relays, integrating meters, AC & DC motors, DC motor starters & controllers, automatic DC motors, AC motor starters, repairing AC motors & generators. This work would be of interest to and a nice gift for anyone who is a student of electricity or is an apprentice electrician as a reference. The work is in good-excellent overall condition.
