Lift up the lower portion of the transparent tube cover followed by twisting the tube slightly in a clockwise direction so that it can be removed easily. Then replace it with a new 4 watt 6 in tube (134 5mm+5%). Using super Bright LEDs and bright time will last for over 100 hours. It is adviseable to remove the batteries from the article if it is not being used for any length of time. Do not switch on the ultraviolet circuit when the tube is not connected as this may damage the solid state of the circuit. To replace batteries: Remove the cover by sliding the solid state of the circuit. (Use 4 UM-3/size "AA" batteries - not included). Note: When the light of the ultraviolet tube begins to get dim, the batteries should be changed, otherwise the tube will become blackened. BID WITH CONFIDENCE!!
