Motorola R2670 FDMA Digital Communications System Analyzer R2670A. Prior to listing it was powered on, performed its self test and responded all controls. Tested basic functions of unit including Generate/Receive/Spectrum Analyzer and Tracking Generator. Unit passed built-in calibration/self tests. You can see some results of functional testing in photo's provided. All Generate/Receive and Spectrum Analyzer tests show measurements as expected when compared to another unit with current traceable calibration. Due to being vintage equipment can fail at any time it is sold as-is, "for parts or not working" with no guarantee of functionality or completeness whatsoever. Listing is for the unit only, with no test leads, front cover or other accessories. In good cosmetic condition with minor scuffs, scratches, marks. Since around the year 2003, was used in an engineering lab so has had a pretty easy life in regards to being banged around. Unit will occasionally restart as if an internal processor reset occurs. It resumes normal operation immediately after restarting. It takes a minute or so after a cold start for Synthesizer to lock. I have not used it these past three years but do not recall that or the random restart issue prior to storage. It was stored in a cool/dry environment so not sure why these issues arose. Removing the top cover and running my hand over the exposed ribbon cables causes the synth to lock immediately rather than needing to warm up. I treated the visible ribbon cable connectors with DeOxit but made no improvement. I had never used the tracking generator though tested that function prior to listing. See last photo. Does not appear to work correctly as you can see. That photo shows tracking generator with Gen and Ant ports connected, should be a flat trace. Someone may very well know the cause of these issues and have the ability to correct them. Hopefully I've priced this to be attractive to someone who is willing to take that chance.
