Introduction The ARRIS FFE-*-100*/RP-R feederline equalizer is designed to compensate for feeder cable slope, and thus provide improved “window” specifications. This 1 GHz FFE product includes the option of adding attenuation to the return path that enables improved signal-to-noise performance and tighter gain variances. The equalizer circuit is contained in the same type of housing as the SSP splitters, directional couplers, and power inserters. All FFE-*-100*/RP-R electronics are included in the faceplate so that upgrades and replacements can be performed without splicing in a new housing. The FFE-8-100*/RP-R is shipped with an 8 dB equalizer installed. The FFE-12-100*/RP-R is shipped with a 12 dB equalizer installed. Other plug-in equalizer values can be achieved by purchasing any available dB value of the 1 GHz ARRIS SFE plug-in equalizer (model SFE-100-*). The FFE-*-100*/RP-R feederline equalizers include return path padding capability. Return path padding can be used to reduce the level of the return path signals. These equalizers use standard ARRIS JXP-*B attenuator pads. Currently the 1 GHz FFE is available in S-split (5-40 MHz / 52-1003 MHz) and Ksplit (5-42 MHz / 54-1003 MHz), with other frequency splits available upon request with appropriate development time.  GHz bandwidth  Installed 8 dB or 12 dB forward equalizer  Return path attenuation possible for improved system performance via a plug-in attenuator  Backward compatible with all ARRIS SSP passives and existing FFE equalizers 12 A power passing  Accepts standard ARRIS accessories (SFE-100-*forward equalizers and JXP-*B pads)  RoHS compliant Motorola Starline (taps,passives,feeder equalizer) FFE-8-100S/RP
