It is recognized by the stylized ivory blossoms woven in an overall pattern on a luscious red field. The field is surrounded by several borders containing more stylized flowers. Fanciful myths have evolved to describe the origin of the pattern-some say they are stylized elephant feet. Most experts agree, however, that original Turkoman weavers drew their inspiration from the flowerbeds of a formal garden. The MouseRug combines traditional handmade rug patterns with the Lextra yarn-dyed nylon fiber coating process to create a beautiful, durable mousepad and coaster. By scanning actual hand-woven rugs even tiny imperfections are faithfully reproduced to make the MouseRug look exactly like the original.. The Lextra process does not use ink. Small, 1mm yarn-dyed fibers are dispensed through a metal screen with an electrical charge which orients the fibers vertically and propels them into the design adhesive. The color will not wear off.
