NBS 30 conveyor employs a series of narrow belts, each with patented individual take-up. 30-degree diverting is accomplished by three rows of divert wheels powered by the main conveyor. The simple innovative design reduces cost and energy consumption while increasing sort reliability. The main conveyor drives the divert wheels so no additional drives are required. The NBS 30 carries product at speeds up to 300 feet per minute and achieves a sort rate of up to 100 products per minute. NBS 30 diverts experience less tipping and skewing of product, and overall superior and more accurate diverting characteristics than other diverts. Even unstable products are successfully diverted with the exclusive limited slip-clutch design, which provides a small acceleration ramp for diverting. During the last 10 years, energy consumption of TGW NBS has been reduced by 87.5% compared to the original ERMANCO EWX sorter, which has a conventional sorter construction. This energy savings also translates into less noise, belt pull, and component wear. Energy usage is 60% less than for conventional sorters. In addition, field reports indicate that installation time for NBS sorters is close to 50% of conventional sorters due to the simplicity of the construction and belt path. NBS diverters can be easily repositioned to perfectly suit the application or to reconfigure. Belt mistracking is eliminated with the total belt retention system.
