I/C core format stands for interchangable cores, an I/C core, is a lock insert thats only removeble with a special proper key  normally maintaned by security or building owners and is very versatile in the field. It allows you or security to quickly change the locks pinning by replaceing the old core with a new previously keyed one in less than 3 seconds, as long as you have the special authorized change key.
