It's rated for 300 lb capacity which is one of the main reasons we bought them, but in order to get the stool more than 2 feet tall you have to do the ugly silver extenders with the silver leg bottoms. So the 300 lb person is then depending on a screw to hold. I don't think it will. It's ugly! The top is cheap looking. Like stapled cardboard for the seat. The legs without the extensions have rubber bottom but if you put extenders on you have the metal on the bottom. Not good if you have ceramic tile you don't want scratched. Kind of silly if you ask me not to make the rubber cap transferrable to the ugly extension. Very unhappy with this purchase. Assuming returning them would cost more in return shipping than we paid for them. To make these counter stools which is not like bar stools you need as long as the black part is in silver so if you like that look order. Photo is misleading with just a couple inch extender.
