The MA-2 Integrated Parachute Restraint Harness provides for integration of the aircrew member's parachute harness, lap belt assembly and shoulder restraint harness. It also provides optimum mobility to the aircrew member while offering restraint to the seat during emergency conditions and serves as a parachute harness in case of aircraft ejection. The harness consists of a nylon webbing encased in nylon fabric channel and is available in 12 standard sizes (see Size Schedule below). Shoulder restraint adjustable straps with canopy releases provide attachment of the parachute riser assembly. NOTE: Canopy releases and release adapters are procured separately. A lap belt with release adapter is attached to the lap belt alignment webbing. The lap belt assembly provides attachent to a survival kit or parachute and prevents damage to the abdominal proper harness alignment and to improve the overall fit of the harness. The suit is closed by a slide fastener positioned at the front of the suit. Hooks and eyelets are installed under the slide fastener to partially close the suit and reduce the strain of the slide fastener when closing. And adjustable chest strap provides the final necessary chest restraint adjustments. The chest strap is secured by a friction adapter and hook and pile tape.
