There is a 6" circular weighted steel base which also serves as an accessory tray. NECKLACE CAPACITY: Holds 14-28+ necklaces (1 to 2 necklaces per hook, depending upon your own jewelry collection style and size). The 14 heavy duty well designed necklace hooks that are very well spaced and are staggered up-and-down, in-and-out making it very simple to see and choose what you want to wear and there is no need to unlatch your necklaces to remove them, truly trouble free. NECKLACE STORAGE: The 7 upper tier hooks easily store necklaces up to *28" and the 7 lower tier hooks can hold bracelets or necklaces up to *24" long. *I measure length of necklaces as if unclasped lying in a straight line. This design also works well with hook type pierced earrings. There is approximately 2 1/4" of clearance between each upper hook and 1 1/2" of clearance between each lower hook so that they do not interfere with one another causing a problem instead of a solution.
