Neodymium rare-earth permanent N52 magnet -  2 x 2 x 2 Inch Block. Neodymium magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet commercially available, but at the same time they are fairly fragile. There is a significant amount of damage on this block, however it is Very powerful N52 Grade Magnet. Grades of Neodymium magnets: N35-N50 33M-48M 30H-45H 30SH-42SH 30UH-35UH 28EH-35EH N35, 38M, 42H, 38SH,35UH,35EH...what does it all mean? Neodymium magnets are all graded by the material they are made of. As a very general rule, the higher the grade (the number following the 'N'), the stronger the magnet. The highest grade of neodymium magnet currently available is N52. Any letter following the grade refers to the temperature rating of the magnet. If there are no letters following the grade, then the magnet is standard temperature neodymium. The temperature ratings are standard (no designation) - M - H - SH - UH – EH, which means the working temperature from 80C to 200C. A slightly damaged rare earth magnet will retain most of it's rated strength. HAZARDS: Neodymium magnets larger than a few cubic centimeters are strong enough to cause injuries to body parts pinched between two magnets, or a magnet and a metal surface, even causing broken bones. Magnets allowed to get too near each other can strike each other with enough force to chip and shatter the brittle material, and the flying chips can cause injuries Corrosion problems: Neodymium Magnets tends to be vulnerable to corrosion, especially along grain boundaries of a sintered magnet. #222.
