This is a NEW A.M.E.C.  spade drill body, model G-500-5MT-SR, for those huge carbide spade inserts that are over a half inch thick.  It has a Morse #5 taper so it probably belongs in one of those huge radial arm drills. It can accept a coolant induction ring with 2.25" ID, the length of the coolant induction section is 1.9" between retaining ring midpoints.  The slot for the carbide insert is 0.6" wide.  The diameter of the main cylindrical section is 3.445" so the minimum insert width is probably 3.5" and the web appears to be a nearly constant 2" throughout the 13" length of the cylinder.  The overall length of the drill is 21.5".  The photos show the cob webs and light superficial rust that has accumulated from fifteen years of storage.  This drill would look perfect except that my wife, now X, conned me out of the tube that it came in.
