This electronic distributor replaces points type distributors used on many forklifts and welders that used the 4-cylinder Continental F-series flathead engine.  It replaces part numbers IBT-4705, IBT-4706, IDJ-4008, IDJ-4012, and others.  The shaft extension (distance from the mounting flange to bottom of the shaft collar) is approx 1-1/2” and the distributor turns counterclockwise as viewed from the rotor end.  If your distributor is mounted in the center of the cylinder head, has the same shaft extension, and turns counterclockwise, this one will work as a direct replacement.   It works with any standard 12V can type coil by simply hooking the red and black wires to the coil.  (Negative ground systems only)   Note: We use several different distributor manufacturers as shown by distributors labeled Type II and Type III.  The exact unit we ship is subject to availability at the time of sale.  Although they vary in appearance they are all functionally the same and use the exact same electronics.   We also offer a similar distributor with a crab-claw (side entry) distributor cap for applications with limited overhead clearance.  If you need this type distributor please contact us for more details.  We also have distributors available for 6-cylinder Continental flatheads.   If you have questions regarding your application please e-mail or call 918-855-9780 from 8-5 central time.   If there is a problem with the item please notify us within 3 days.
