Click HERE to see my full selection of Narex chisels and rasps This chisel is made by a small tool manufacturer in the Czech Republic and is of exceptional quality. The blade is made from fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to Rc 59. The blade takes and holds an excellent edge. The blade is accurately ground. As with all edge tools, it will require some sharpening before use. This chisel is excellent value for a good quality tool. This is a single 3 mm (1/8") chisel. It is ground at a 25 degree bevel. Blade is 4 5/8" long. Handles is lacquered European Beech and is 5 1/2” long. Overall length is 10". The blade has a well-seated heavy steel tang and the handle has 2 ferrules to withstand vigorous mallet work. It does not come in any retail packaging. In the August 2008 issue of Fine Woodworking Magazine, the Narex chisels earned Author’s Choice for “Best Value” in the western style bench chisel category.
