You are insured against loss by the postal system or I may self insure. Shipping includes a trip out to the post office, tape, packing materials, standing in line, filling out forms and a trip back. The good folks here charge on shipping (it's about 16%! - 10% final value fee + 3.0% paypal + 3% foreign exhange). It is NOT just the cost of postage. Example: If shipping is $100 actual and I charge $100 --> I would receive $84 and lose money and I have not packed the item or made a trip to the post office. No local pick up.
