The OSM2 models that measure up to 1100 nm range now is equipped with a back-thinned CCD with an improved UV and NIR sensitivity, three times higher dynamic range, and 50% less noise (and hence 50 % better signal-to-noise ratio), compared with the OSM series. You still have the competitive advantages of the original OSM2 series, such as portability, turn-key, small size, and economical price. These instruments have very low stray light and sub-nanometer resolution. The OSM2-400 models can operate as stand-alone instruments with an LCD screen running on battery power. Their 32-bit RISC CPU and built-in math functions make data acquisition, configuring and data storage operations seamless and without visible delays. Data can be stored, archived and transported on removable SmartMedia memory cards or simply stored into the instrument’s on-board 4-MB memory for future retrieval. If you prefer, a flexible software application allows you to remotely control the spectrometer via an RS-232, USB or Ethernet interface. We offer various models of OSM2 Spectrometers to cover the 200 to 1700 nm spectral range. The UV - NIR models use a 2048 element linear array CCD; the NIR-MIR models use a cooled 256 element InGaAs array. All models include a 1 m long, 400 µm core fused silica fiber. Other fiber lengths and core sizes are available.   Data Acquisition and Control Software  The OSM-Analyst Basic is the standard software package delivered with each OSM instrument. This Windows application has all the same features as the on-board software of the OSM-400 instrument, as well as the special features, listed below. An Active X Component allows quick development of your measurement sequences. •  Stand-alone operation via advanced touchscreen display or via PC through USB or Ethernet interfaces •  Start measurements in absolute, reflection, transmission, absorption, optical density and background subtraction mode •  Perform basic mathematical operations with your spectra, such as addition or multiplication with other spectra or a value •  Display multiple spectra at the same time in different colors •  Freely zoom in and out •  Save spectra in SPC format (GRAMS Standard) and in CSV format for further operation in other software packages such as Excel or MATLab  Rechargeable Batteries These instruments are truly portable. Not only do they have an on-board microprocessor and touch-screen display (eliminating the need for a PC), but they have rechargeable batteries for field operation (OSM2-400 models, only). Fully charged batteries run for up to 4 hours.
Only accessories included are the stylus, Two CD's containing the users manual and OSM-Analyst application software, and the Power Supply with the AC Line Cord. Internal rechargeable battery does not charge. Unit operates perfect on AC power, however. Display is perfect, no scratches.
