Up for auction is a nice Victoreen Instrument Company CDV-715 Model 1A Geiger Counter, Radiation Detector. This meter was manufactured for the United States Government, Office of Civilian Defense and distributed to cities and towns for use in radioactive fallout shelters during the 1950's and throughout the Cold War era. This unit came from Austin, Texas. It is very good to excellent condition.  And it WORKS!!  It was last calibrated in 1986. It has some typical scratches for its age. The meter as a slight scratch by the top screw. Possibly some touch-up painting occurred on the metal edge. It works on a single "D" cell battery (not included).  High bidder to pay bid plus $9.00 shipping in the lower 48 states.  International sales use the calculator.
