This is a nice, clean Heathkit model # C-2 Condenser (Capacitor) Checker from a local Amateur Radio Operator's Estate. It did not come with a manual, but like most Heathkit equipment, the manual is probably available for on-line download, if you'd like more information. All of the switches and controls move smoothly. When I removed the rear outer case to take pictures of the inside condition, a 2 MFD @ 200V wax capacitor fell out. It appears that possibly, a previous owner was getting ready to replace this capacitor and unsoldered it or clipped it out. If you look at the last two pictures, you can see where it probably goes - you can see where it came from, and the two terminal strips that need something connected to them. Since I don't have a manual, I didn't want to re-install it, since it was probably time to replace it, anyway. Like all vintage electronic equipment, the new owner might want to consider replacing any old capacitors and resistors, as the orignal parts will have changed value after so many years. Because of the loose capacitor and having done no testing, I'm listing it under eBay's condition grading of "For parts or not working" even though it otherwise appears to be in good physical condition. The previous owner replaced the original AC power cord with a newer 2-wire plug and cord. This would be an excellent addition to your Ham Radio or Vintage Radio repair test bench!
