Six Digit Nixie Clock Kit with Dekatron Pendulum Control - Bare Board Only In kit form, you get a circuit that is a six digit nixie clock, plus has additional circuits to run a dekatron. 9VAC are the preferred input voltages. Up to 11VAC, or as low as 7VAC acceptable. The current draw varies on the type of nixie tube you use, but 1 amp is the absolute minimum. A 2 amp wallcube maybe needed if you're driving IN-18s. A 5.5mm OD x 2.5mm ID power jack is provided, so wallcubes. A HV switching supply is needed to generate the 170V, to power the nixies. This supply is not provided, so you need to get this elsewhere. A Taylor 1363. can fit in J5, or my dual supply in J4. Here's a link to all the instructions you need to build this kit, once you receive it: Clock Kit. Nixie tubes dekatron are to be acquired separately, by the buyer. There are many sources available, both on eBay, and elsewhere online. The boards do not mount directly the tubes. Connector locations are provided for hours, minutes, seconds, and dekatron groups. This way you are not limited to certain particular types of tubes. This is the third release of this board, Rev D (No Rev B). It has a considerable number of parts, and uses discrete CMOS logic. It could have been made less complex, part-wise, if a pre-programmed microcontroller was used. By using several logic chips, it makes it more understandable by the casual electronics hobbyist. No board cutting is required, as was in the prior release. However, an additional resistor is required and is covered in the instruction link, above. Here's a video of the clock running. Again - This is the bare board only - Revision D, no cuts required ! The difference between Rev D, over Rev C, is that pads are now added to the board for R45 & R46. On the older Rev C, these two resistors had to be tacked on the back of the board, "after-the-fact". As of August of 2014, this will only be sold as a bare board, and not a complete kit. The Russian 74141 chips have been creeping up in price, and their availability is diminishing. They are still readily available, but in bulk, at twice the cost from when I first sold this kit. I may still release as many as 5 as a complete kit (pay attention to my other listings). I am in the process of designing a new clock kit, using domestically available parts. .
