NOS/NOS RCA type 83 rectifier tube. Mil spec. Hickok, TV-7 tube testers, etc. Click images to enlarge Description NOS/NIB RCA Type 83 Military Grade Full Wave, Smooth Black plate Rectifier tube. Used in Hickok, TV-7 & many other tube testers. TV-7/U tests strong. Up for bids is a WWII production, NOS/NIB, RCA, type 83 rectifier tube. This tube is dual branded as a VT-83 and as such is military grade. Type 83 is a full-wave rectifier tube commonly associated with use in Hickok manufactured and/or Hickok designed tube testers including the TV-7, its variants and the well-known Hickok 530, 600, 800 and 6000 series of tube testers. Construction includes hanging filaments for low noise, smooth black plates and a pair of heavy-duty center support rods. The base is good and tight. The base date code is K4 indicating production between July-August 1943. This tube was tested for emission, shorts and noise with my Dan Nelson calibrated TV-7/U tube tester using a digital meter for greater accuracy. The TV-7/U minimum recommended value (65%) for each plate of the type 83 tube is 40.
