This is a NEW OLD STOCK OHMITE 100 WATT, 3 OHM, (5.75 AMP MAX) VARIABLE RESISTOR (RHEOSTAT), MODEL K, SERIES A, # 0443 . The box has storage-shelf-handling wear. These were used in welders, industrial equipment, and when installing an original 6 volt vintage car radio back into a vehicle which has had it's electrical systems upgraded to 12 volts. This can handle 5.75 amps MAX, which is enough for most standard 6 volt car radios, but PLEASE check the radio specifications for power consumption BEFORE buying this. I can supply most if not all car/truck radios specs if asked. Simply connect it between the battery and the radio(either + or -), turn on the radio and adjust the rheostat for 6.3 - 7 volts using a volt meter across the terminals. Ask questions before bidding.
