Here's why- Your delivery address DIRECTLY affects shipping cost. Is your delivery address a "COMMERCIAL ADDRESS"? Just because you run a business from your home or operate a "for profit" farm does not constitute a "COMMERCIAL ADDRESS" - it is solely at the digression of the trucking company. (Your business may be too far off the "beaten path" as well) Do you have a loading dock? Do you have a forklift? Do you require a truck with a lift-gate to deliver your item? - This all affects shipping cost! We have been "BACK CHARGED" by carriers so many times in the past because buyers LIED about the status of their delivery address that we simply WILL NOT arrange common carrier shipping anymore. Also some carriers (i.e. Roadrunner Transpt. & New England Motor Freight) are requiring items to be packed in a FULL WOOD CRATE. They say this is due to damage claims but it is really because they want to pile someone else's stuff ON TOP of YOUR stuff. We palletize our items well. Bolted AND banded wherever possible and stretch wrapped if possible as well. Our palletizing fees DO NOT reflect the cost of building full wood crates. If you have a common carrier you deal with - feel free to use them. Just forward a BILL OF LADING prior to carrier pick-up (We will advise final pallet size & weight when item is ready for pick-up so you can complete the Bill Of Lading) If you don't have a regular carrier we suggest YOU contact & DIRECTLY PAY a discount freight broker such as Access America 866.272.2057 or Freight Guru 877.937.3734.
