This new requirement, suggested by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), requires the monitoring of end tidal carbon dioxide (etCO2) and is to be implemented by January 2014. The following paragraph is an excerpt from AAOMS ParCare 2012, Anesthesia in Outpatient Facilities: “The use of capnography for patients under moderate sedation, deep sedation and general anesthesia should be instituted in OMS practice and used on these patients effective January 2014 I SPECIALIZE IN MONITORS WITH SIDE OR MAIN STREAM MONITORING CAPABILITIES.
