The Nylotube tubing is made using heat- and light-stabilized materials. Nylon brittleness is usually caused by water absorption and depletion cycles. Nylotube is not reliant on moisture to remain flexible, so the life expectancy of the tubing is higher and the risk of brittleness is greatly reduced. The physical properties of this tubing are impressive. It is made from nylon-12 and is available in both semi-rigid and flexible grades. The hardness of the tubing is 72 Shore D and 63 Shore D respectively. The tensile strength of both grades is 7300 psi. The elongation at break for both grades is 300%. The cold impact resistance is below -40В°F and the maximum operating temperature is 212В°F. Nylotube is exceptionally resistant to various substances such as solvents, alkalies, oils, greases, petroleum products, fungi, and molds. It has fair resistance to dilute mineral and organic acids. In-house testing should be done for critical applications or aggressive environments to ensure that the material is suitable for the intended application.
