This balance is backed by 60-plus years experience in the manufacture of precision balances, and is guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ninety days from purchase. The Autogram is designed to be as trouble free and maintenance free as a piece of equipment of this type can be. It is not necessary, therefore, to enter into a costly service contract to keep your Autogram on the job. With the introduction of the magnetically damped Autogram 1000, a giant-step has been taken in reducing the cost-performance ratio of top loading balances for the industrial laboratory. The Autogram is priced approximately 40% lower than other top loading balances offering identical capacity, precision and sensitivity. Simplicity of operation and the permanent magnetic damping system make this balance a real time-saver. Weighing up to 100g are made by simply placing your sample on the left hand pan, and reading the result on the optically projected scale. For samples weighing more than 100g, finger-tip controlled weights are added to the right hand pan in 100g increments, with the last three places being optically projected to 0.1g After recording the result, all weights are returned simultaneously to their storage rack. This patented “Touch-N-Weigh” system is both convenient and economical - there is no internal weight set to malfunction – no need for expensive servicing of mysterious secrets buried in the balance housing. Up to 200g tare is controlled by the front mounted dial-knob, in addition to taring out the weight of empty containers, additive weighing of more than one substance in the same container are easily made. Tare over 200g can be accomplished by adding weights to the right hand pan. Unlike many top loading balances, the Autogram can be used for comparative weighing – as in selecting centrifuge cups. The weight rack can be lifted to a near vertical position, and locked into place, leaving the right hand pan accessible. The Autogram 1000 emphasizes the Ohaus customer-oriented approach to balance design. Accuracy is not affected by out of level conditions, the operator need only be sure the balance is zeroed; the stainless steel case is stain and corrosion resistant; specially designed baffles protect the mechanism from contaminants, the bulb used for the optical system is pre-focused; the instrument is portable, and requires no arrestment between weighing, or when being moved short distances.
