This is an old letterpress printing block depicting the DeMolay shield emblem that was used from 1920-1932. Founded in 1919, DeMolay is an international organization for young men ages 12 to 21, modeled after Freemasony. DeMolay derives its name from Jacques de Molay, the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar. This printing block is solid metal. The face is about 1/2 inch wide by 3/4 inch high. The metal base is about an inch thick.
