This is an old K & D, Knapp and Davis electric motor fresh from the attic of an old estate.  It seems to be in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a missing tension spring for one brush tightener.  It measures about 4 5/8 inches in diameter and about 5 3/4 inches tall overall.  It is about 6 1/4 inches long.  It turns nicely with seemingly little wear in the bearings or on the armature.  I have not tried it but I see no obvious reason why it wouldn't motor or generate.  It has the original oil cups and wire terminals on it yet as can be seen.  It looks to have had a name tag on it but I think reproductions are findable.  It has some original black paint on it yet but I didn't clean it very much other than a light dusting.  It would make a nice addition to your early toy or electrical collection.  It would also be neat as a generator pulled by a model gas or steam engine!  The pictures tell the story.  I can be reached at 262 573 193 1 if you'd like to talk about it.  Good Luck.
