Oliver #25 Pattern Makers Lathe. 108” between centers, 24” swing, Overall length of the lathe is 151” and weighs approx. 3000 pounds. Direct drive DC 220 volt motor, runs using standard 220 single phase through the included drive. 8” & 10” inboard faceplates, 12” out board faceplate, new Oneway brand Banjo with 14” Oneway tool rest, three jaw chuck and a few extras, please study photos to see all that is included. No casting breaks, in overall good condition. I hate to part with this lathe but have run out of room and the time to continue with the restoration. When I purchased the lathe, I had the motor professionally worked on costing more than I am currently selling the lathe for (not to mention the $400 for the new banjo and tool rest). Work done to the motor included having the commutator turned and replacing the four brushes with new ones. I had the two fields and four inter-poles re-wound and the armature cleaned and re-varnished. All interior wiring was replaced with modern wiring. The current motor drive included is the drive it came with when I purchased it. The motor runs smooth and quiet and the bearings are tight and true. The variable speed drive works fine but only produces 180 total output volts so the full potential of the motor is unrealized with this drive. My next step was to have a custom drive built for this lathe but this is where my journey will end with it. I hope the lathe finds a new home where someone will pick up where I left off and realize the full potential of this great lathe. Email questions using the link. I can accept a strait truck up to 26’ but NO tractor trailers.
