“Limited testing show it works. There is a cassette tape in the unit that was found, and was used to test - it plays and I did record over it to make sure it records. The tape is still in there. The side arm that holds the tape in place is weak and flips open with little pressure. I put some tape on the side arm and it kept the tape in and was able to play and record without issue. I have since removed the tape, as the new owner might want to use a colored tape or some more permanent structure if it fits their need. No damage is noted on or within the tape player, so besides the weak side arm, everything is fully functional without damage. No battery corrosion was found within the battery compartment. It looks as if this unit was used, but well taken care of.”
