This is a Maytag Upright Multi-Motor 2 Cycle Gas Engine, From An Early Gas Powered Model 43 or 44 Wood Washer From About 1918. This is In Need Of A full Restoration, Or to Use For Parts.. The Engine Is Loose & Has Good Compression, It Is Clean & will Be Easy To Get Apart, This Still Has ALL Of the Original Type Bolts..... The Cylinder Jug Is Excellent, I see no Damaged Or Repaired fins !! This Is complete Including A nice Re cast Muffler & The Ignition Components, (timer & commutater Which Are usually Missing) Even Has A nice Vintage sparkplug. This looks to Have A pretty Good E - Type Carb That Mounts on The Main Bearing. As well As this Engine Having The Short Time in Production "Fuel Level Gauge" As pointed out in the pictures. The Base & Mounting Ears Are good, However It Looks to Have Had the flywheel replaced & I see No serial Number On it... As well As the Taper pin Hole Not Lining Up Properly, I Have not tore into the engine to see why, This is A Scarce Version Of The Upright Maytag, ...... No Damage or repairs..... Many Of The Parts For this Engine Are Available Right Here on E-Bay From A few of the Vendors That Stock Parts like Gaskets, decals, Carb Jets, Etc.This Is A good Engine For Someone That Is looking to completely Restore An Upright Maytag..... No Maytag Collection Is Complete Without At Least One !!!!
