This is very hard to find original book entitled "Traction Farming and Traction Engineering"  It is a third printing and was published in 19171 by Frederick Drake and Co. and is one of the most comprehensive early books on prairie tractors.  It is jam packed with information and illustrations.  It is in excellent condition for being nearly 100 years old with minor wear and soiling.  It measures about 5 1/4 x 7 3/8 inches with 412 pages.  It has chapters devoted to nearly all of the individual engine parts from pistons, cylinders, valves, rings, ignition, carburation and more.  It has illustrations of the Bates, Avery, Twin City, Sawyer Massey, Minneapolis, Aultman Taylor, Caterpillar, Case, International Harvester, Rumely, and Advance Rumely tractors.   It also has sections on water supply and electric light for the house and a very extensive section on threshing and threshing machines.  This is a very pointed and easy to read book and would be a fine addition to your early tractor library or literature collection.  These originals don't turn up very often so don't miss your chance on this one.  The pictures tell the story.  You won't be disappointed in any way.  Good Luck.
