Hinge handcuffs are less flexible than chain versions and allow less rotation. The all steel construction and spun rivets deliver a high strength, smooth operating cuff with the ability to fold flat for compact storage. The Model 801C is National Institute of Justice approved. There is an indescribable quality to these handcuffs. Pulling a pair out is a very impressive experience. The smooth nickel finish is very unique, and the lettering accents the overall impression they make. The multi-part hinge links kind of roll when the cuffs are flexed. When unlocking your restraint be careful not to torque the key guide post. This will loosen the post causing it to fall out. Also, be careful not to over rotate the key causing the key flag to break off or become stuck in the locking mechanism. Use extra caution when using oversize keys. When possible carry your restraints in a protective case to reduce exposure to outside elements. If exposed to moisture dry thoroughly. Most importantly, dry the inside locking mechanisms.
