This is an ion pump control unit for an Ultek D-I Ion Pump like the ones I am listing. This controller is basically a high voltage current-limited operating power source for Ultek ion pumps of various pumping capacities. It also provides a means by which the operator can continuously monitor the operating conditions in the ion pump and thereby know, for example, the approximate pressure in the vacuum system. The ion pump control unit has test points to which various test equipment can be connected to check out the operation of the vacuum system or to obtain a continuous recording of pressure vs time in the system. This unit is housed in a chassis suitable for mounting in a standard 19-inch wide rack cabinet, or can be used as a desk top unit. All operating controls of the unit are located on the front panel and cable connections on the rear. The meter on the front panel indicates voltage and current flow in the pump, and pressure. Within the chassis there is a large leakage inductance type power transformer, a full-wave bridge rectifier, and resistors and capacitors that are part of the power output circuit. This unit outputs 4,750 volts +/- 7% at 150 mA +/-7%. Its torr range is 10^-4 to 10^-9 and is represented in a logarithmic fashion. It controls up to 50 L/s ion pumps. This unit measures 19 inches x 7 inches x 9.75 inches and weighs appx. 32 pounds. It runs off 117 VAC. I have tested the output voltage and current capability by load testing up to 150mA, and have also verified that the meter indicates properly for load applied, but have not tested the pumping capability of this unit connected to an ion pump in a real system because I do not have a high vacuum system, so I am listing this unit "as-is". Since this unit will weigh over 40 pounds when properly packaged for shipping, it may be expensive to ship, especially overseas. See shipping section for more details.
Condition For parts or not working :
An item that does not function as intended and is not fully operational. This includes items that are defective in ways that render them difficult to use, items that require service or repair, or items missing essential components. See the seller’s listing for full details.
Seller Notes This was removed from a laser manufacturing/refurbishing workstation and was working at time of removal. It has tape and decal markings, dust, scratches, etc on it. I have no way of testing it in a high vacuum, so I just tested the high voltage output and the meter movement. I have complete documentation on this controller, including operating instructions, troubleshooting and schematics. It was adjusted to work with the ion pump I have listed.
